How it works

  1. 01

    Upload the PDF statement

  2. 02

    Check the balance proof

  3. 03

    Download the .xlsx file

Checked before you download

Opening balance plus every transaction must equal the closing balance, and every printed running balance must follow from the row above. If anything is off, you see the exact rows, not a silently wrong file.

Real numbers, real dates

Amounts are numeric cells and dates are date cells, so sums, filters and pivots work straight away. No text that only looks like a number.

Built for bookkeepers

Keep each client’s statements apart in one workspace, with unlimited clients and seats on every paid plan.

Deleted after 24 hours

Uploads and everything read from them are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload (or after 7 or 30 days if your workspace chooses), or right away when you click delete. Your statements are never used to train AI models.

What the spreadsheet looks like

One row per transaction, in the order printed on the statement. Amount is signed (money in positive, money out negative); Debit and Credit split the same amount into two columns for people who prefer them; Balance is the running balance printed on the statement for that row. A second sheet, Summary, holds the account, the statement period, the opening and closing balances and the result of the balance check.

Why the balance check matters in a spreadsheet

A PDF-to-Excel tool that misses one row, or reads a credit as a debit, still produces a tidy spreadsheet. The mistake only shows up later, when the books do not reconcile. StatementLoom adds the rows to the opening balance and compares the result with the closing balance printed on the statement, and with every running balance, before it lets you download. When they disagree you see the rows to look at.

Dates and currencies

In Excel, dates are real date cells. In the CSV download, US-dollar statements use month-first dates (MM/DD/YYYY) and every other currency uses day-first dates (DD/MM/YYYY). Day-first statements, £ and €, and European number formats such as 1.234,56 are read correctly.
