DocuClipper and StatementLoom both turn PDF bank statements into Excel, CSV and accounting files, and both check the result against the statement's balances. The main difference is scans: DocuClipper says it reads scanned and photographed pages with OCR (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)), and StatementLoom reads text PDFs only. If your statements are downloaded from online banking, you can try StatementLoom's free bank statement converter without an account.

What DocuClipper says it does

DocuClipper describes itself as a bank statement converter for PDF bank and credit card statements, scanned or digital (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)). It says digital PDFs are read from their text layer, and scanned and photographed pages go through OCR, with crooked pages rotated automatically.

On balances, DocuClipper says each period is totaled against the statement's printed opening and closing balances, and periods that do not tie out are flagged before you export. Its reconciliation page says it flags the specific discrepancy and lets you edit transactions in place until totals match (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)).

Its pricing page lists output formats of Excel (XLSX), CSV, QBO, IIF, OFX, QFX and QIF for QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Xero, and says every plan includes direct integrations with QuickBooks Online and Xero (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)). Its bank-statement-to-Excel page advertises converting a statement free (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)). It counts one processed PDF page as one page, counts only pages that are successfully extracted, and says unused pages do not carry forward to the next billing cycle.

Prices as listed on 22 October 2026

DocuClipper's pricing page, in its default annual-billing view in US dollars, lists these page allowances (DocuClipper (opens in a new tab)):

  • Starter: 60 pages a month, $20.30 a month billed annually (larger Starter allowances are selectable)
  • Business: 640 pages a month, $111.30 a month billed annually
  • Enterprise: 1,800 pages a month, $279.30 a month billed annually

Those are annual-billing prices. DocuClipper's pricing page description says pricing starts at $29/mo, and the page says you save 30% by paying annually instead of monthly. It offers a 14-day trial with no credit card required, during which it processes up to 120 pages and shows every extracted transaction; exporting or syncing to QuickBooks or Xero needs an upgrade.

StatementLoom's plans, as listed on 22 October 2026:

  • Free account: 30 pages a month for up to 3 clients
  • Starter: $30 a month or $288 a year, 400 pages a month
  • Professional: $99 a month or $950 a year, 4,000 pages a month
  • 7-day trial with 100 pages on paid plans

Prices are plus VAT where applicable. StatementLoom bills pages once, only when a statement first reconciles, and never for failed or unreconciled statements.

When DocuClipper fits better

  • Your statements are scanned or photographed. DocuClipper says it handles them with OCR; StatementLoom does not read them.
  • You need IIF or QIF output. DocuClipper lists both; StatementLoom exports neither.
  • You want transactions sent straight into QuickBooks Online or Xero. DocuClipper lists direct integrations; StatementLoom gives you files to import.

When StatementLoom fits

  • Your statements are text PDFs downloaded from online banking.
  • You want to try it on a few statements without creating an account: the free bank statement converter reads up to 10 pages a day.
  • You want every printed running balance checked, not only the opening and closing totals, with the expected and actual value shown for each row that breaks the check.
  • You want uploads deleted automatically, 24 hours after upload by default (7 or 30 days if the workspace chooses). StatementLoom never uses statements to train AI models.

StatementLoom also has free tools that need no account: a QBO viewer, a QBO file validator, OFX to CSV and a bank CSV cleaner. For a single format, see PDF to QBO or bank statement to Excel.
